We began Amagansett Sea Salt Co. in 2011 as an adventure marrying two of our favorite things – fine food and life by the ocean! Today, salt making is our passion, and finishing salt our full-time business.
Throughout our marriage, we've spent time in each other's company traveling and enjoying the pleasures of a good meal, with the freshest ingredients, simply prepared and properly seasoned. During breaks from our then careers as attorneys, we explored and were intrigued by the traditions of salt making in the most picturesque and tranquil places in the world. As we spent more and more time in our cherished childhood beach town of Amagansett, we began exploring the craft of salt making. What started as a hobby almost thirty years ago turned into years of refining our sea salt making process: from the design of our unique solar-evaporating salterns, to the manner by which we carefully tend and hand harvest our crop, to experimenting with flavors that pair well with our delicate sea salt.
Today, Amagansett Sea Salt is recognized by leading chefs as one of the world's most revered finishing salts. Our culinary salts are used at outstanding restaurants and by chefs, cooks, gourmets, and food and beverage artisans of all levels. We invite you to work with our exceptional sea salt too!
We collect seawater from the Atlantic Ocean bucket by bucket and tend our growing crop of salt crystals by hand, year-round. We do this because we know our finishing salt will make your food taste better whether you are a professional chef or a home cook. And we love creating something beautiful together.
