A NOTE FROM THE SALTMAKER

We began Amagansett Sea Salt Co. in 2011 as an adventure that married two of our favorite things – fine food and life by the ocean. Today, salt making is our passion and finishing salt is our full-time business.

Throughout our marriage, we’ve traveled together and enjoyed the pleasures of each other's company and a good meal—with the freshest ingredients, simply prepared and properly seasoned. While still pursuing our careers as attorneys, we spent breaks exploring the traditions of salt making in picturesque, tranquil places around the world. As we spent more time in our beloved childhood beach town of Amagansett, we began to experiment with the craft of salt making. What began as a hobby more than thirty years ago has evolved into years of refining our sea salt process—designing unique solar-evaporating salterns, developing processes to tend and hand-harvest our crop, and testing natural flavor pairings that complement our delicate sea salt.

Today, Amagansett Sea Salt is recognized by leading chefs as one of the world’s most respected finishing salts. Our culinary salts are used in exceptional restaurants and by chefs, home cooks, gourmets, and food artisans alike. We invite you to taste and discover our exceptional sea salt too!

We collect Atlantic Ocean seawater bucket by bucket and nurture our growing crop of salt crystals by hand, year-round. We do this because we know our finishing salt will elevate  and make your food look, feel and taste better—whether you’re a professional chef or a home cook. And we love creating something beautiful together.
